Fashion Business Association

I was involved with the Fashion Business Association (FBA) starting my freshmen year of college. With FBA, I had many opportunities to get involved. Every year, we participated in a community wide event to celebrate UCM's homecoming called Get the Red Out. We have painted kid's faces in the past, but my junior year we created temporary tattoos in the shape of UCM's mascot, the mule, and handed them out. During homecoming, we also participated in other events, including bowling and spirit window painting. My junior year, I was also president of FBA. We put on a fashion show for a philanthropy event called Cinderella Dress Exchange. See below for more information on the various events FBA has hosted!

FBA sponsored EVENTS

GORDMAN'S FASHION SHOW

Fall // 2015

My university's fashion department partnered with Gordman's to create a fashion show. We coordinated a fashion show using their clothing. Everyone who worked on the show or modeled was a UCM fashion student. I worked as a stylist and helped fit 12 models in different kinds of dresses. On the day of the show, I worked backstage, and helped get the models ready as quickly as possible.

URBAN HOLIDAY

November // 2016

The Fashion Business Association held a local fashion show in Warrensburg called Urban Holiday. We were in charge of all aspects of it, from creating the marketing to finding local businesses to donate clothing to finding and fitting models. I had a large hand in the marketing and helping decorate the venue for the show.

CINDERELLA DRESS EXCHANGE

March // 2017

FBA collaborated with a sorority on campus, Delta Zeta, to put on a fashion show for DZ's philanthrophy event called Cinderella Dress Exchange.

CDE helps girls find gently used dresses at a low cost. All the proceeds for the event went to a non-profit.

My job included coordinating with DZ, helping fit models, creating the music for the show, and overseeing the backstage area. It was a very rewarding experience. The high school girls who modeled had  a lot of fun, and some of them even found their prom dress.
