About Me

About Me

I am a graduate of the fashion merchandising program at the University of Central Missouri with a minor in marketing. I love to travel, and I've been to 14 different countries so far; most of which I visited during the semester I spent studying abroad in London. When I was young, I was quiet and found joy in expressing myself through clothing. I want to be able to give the joy of self expression through fashion back to other people. Through visual merchandising I am able to inspire people's style and empower them the same way I felt empowered when I was younger.

Work Experience

Work Experience

Altar'd State / Visual Merchandiser

September 2020 to current

In my time at Altar'd State I have worked at three different stores, and been promoted to a Visual Merchandiser. In my role as a visual merchandiser, I translate product into story driven displays that are customer centric. To do this, I analyze data holistically, looking at both my store’s overall performance as well as apparel categories performance to decide what strategies should be used to maximize sales. I determine if new merchandising strategies are needed, as well as create new selling strategies to train my team on. I create the vision for my store by utilizing the principles of design to create aspirational mannequin stylings, wall-scapes, and tables. I create training tools to help train my team to maintain it.

I also have a passion for growing and developing talent! One of the ways I get my team involved in visuals is by leading them in executing floor sets and window installations, and then I provide them feedback to help them learn. During my time at Altar’d State, I have helped grow and develop multiple teams, leading to internal promotions for my team members. Along with that, I helped one of my stores grow from being ranked 60 on our company’s overall health check to number 2 in a year. View examples of my work at Altar’d State under "Experience" tab.

American Eagle Outfitters / Selling Leader

January 2019 to September 2020

During my time at American Eagle Outfitters, I was promoted twice from a Merchandising Associate to a Staffing Supervisor to a Selling Leader. Each role focused on different aspects of the business from visuals to hiring and training staff to driving business through guest engagement. Throughout my tenure at American Eagle Outfitters, I was always involved in visuals. I started by executing and maintaining the established visual standards during floor sets. Weekly I updated fitting room mannequins, interior displays, and fitting room bars with a focus on what the customer was gravitating towards. During floor sets, I led the execution of shops when the company directed product wasn’t available. One of my favorite visual projects I worked on was helping set up an Aerie Pop Up shop for a local university. I determined the merchandising strategy for the specific area I was working in that day.

Once I was promoted to a leadership role, I became in charge of the hiring process; from recruiting and interviewing talent, to hiring and training them, as well as doing the scheduling. I mentored my team in their knowledge of the overall business. Day to day, I would lead the sales floor, driving sales through the analyzation of KPIs.  View examples of my work at American Eagle Outfitters under "Experience" tab.

Anthropologie / Visual Merchandising Intern

May 2018 to July 2018

My job at Anthropologie involved learning from both a visual merchandiser around placing product and a display coordinator who created the window display and various fixtures. I learned how to develop visual narrative for apparel, home, and beauty products. I assisted with the redesign of floor sets, reimagining new shops through the placement of product and styling of mannequins, walls, and tables. I helped drive traffic into the store through compelling window displays and window mannequins. Daily I assisted with placing product in the best visual alignment to what was set during floor set, as well styled mannequins throughout the store.
